We provide academic advising from enrollment to graduation and successful transfer to a university.  We will work with you individually to create an educational plan that works and helps you reach your goals.

Financial Aid and Scholarship Planning
We assist you in filling out your FAFSA, and will provide individualized help in filling out any and all scholarships.

Peer Tutoring
You can receive individualized tutoring at times that fit your schedule. You can use our tutoring services up to 2 hours per week per class. Subjects include Math, Sciences, Writing, Foreign Languages, and others. Study groups and limited drop-in tutoring is also available. The availability of tutors in some subjects may be limited.

Cohort Opportunities
Upon entry into the TOP program, you will become part of a cohort that meets weekly. Traditional students enter a First-Year Experience cohort and nontraditional students enter into a small group cohort.  In both cases, new students will participate in the strengthening of their college success skills as well as their financial literacy and career planning skills. The cohort format allows you to make lasting connections with other TOP students on campus and increases your exposure to TOP services.

Career Assessment Program
Students participating in the Career Assessment Program will meet for one-hour sessions to discuss career options using career inventories to narrow choices. Students will also learn how to investigate possible careers.

Federally Funded
The TRIO Student Support Services Program is 100% funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education under the Higher Education Act of 1965 and serves 165 participants annually.

Our nation has asserted a commitment to providing educational opportunities for all Americans regardless of race, ethnic background, or economic circumstance. In support of this commitment, Congress established a series of programs to help low-income Americans enter college, graduate, and move on to participate more fully in America’s economic and social life. These programs are funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and are referred to as the TRIO Programs (referencing the fact that there were initially only three programs - Upward Bound, Talent Search, and Student Support Services). While student financial aid programs help students overcome financial barriers to higher education, TRIO programs help students overcome class, social and cultural barriers to higher education.
