Concert features Nancy Rumbel with the Umpqua Chamber Orchestra and UCC Chamber Choir.

ROSEBURG, Oregon – On Tuesday, Feb. 27, Grammy award-winning multi-instrumentalist Nancy Rumbel is performing "American Dreams" with the Umpqua Chamber Orchestra and UCC Chamber Choir, under the direction of conductor/composer Dr. Jason Heald.

This all-American program will celebrate music spanning four centuries and includes folk songs, a Navajo prayer, and compositions by Aaron Copland, Stephen Foster, Billy Strayhorn and Samuel Barber.

Rumbel is no stranger to the Roseburg area—having performed here with Tingstad & Rumbel over many years. Her primary instruments are oboe, English horn, and ocarinas. Dr. Heald has led the Umpqua Chamber Orchestra and UCC Chamber Choir for the past two decades and continues to enrich the community with new arrangements and compositions. Together they have created an enjoyable program drawing from America’s rich heritage of diverse melodic music.

The performance will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Roseburg, which is located at 823 SE Lane Street in Roseburg. Admission at the door is $10 per person; students FREE with a valid student ID. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m.
