Susan Taylor has served as Executive Director of the Umpqua Community College Foundation in Roseburg, Oregon since January 2016. Prior to becoming executive director, Ms. Taylor directed UCC and the Foundation’s efforts in raising $25 million in competitive grants since 2008. Her role in fundraising was central to establishing UCC’s flagship program, the Southern Oregon Wine Institute, and the Bonnie J. Ford Health, Nursing, and Science Center.
Ms. Taylor specializes in resource diversification, strategic partnerships, grants, and special projects. She is an active speaker at national conferences, webinars, and classrooms, and published an article in the spring 2015 issue of the national journal, Community College Entrepreneurship. Ms. Taylor holds a master’s degree in public administration from University of Montana and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). In 2014 she became a Fulbright Scholar, traveling to Germany with the International Education Administrators Seminar. Ms. Taylor is also an American Leadership Forum of Oregon Fellow.
Prior to starting at UCC in 2006, Ms. Taylor held roles as national park ranger, Boys & Girls Club executive director, and field ecology teacher. She enjoys family time, travel, wine, music, swimming, reading, and the outdoors.
